Yeah, you can tell Sega put A LOT of work into all this polygonal R&D, it's just a shame nothing really came of it in the 32-bit generation. Sonic Jam was really just a test demo for what would become Sonic Adventure, and even the beauty that is Sonic R is really just an evolved engine that Soni...

It peaked at the second, getting rid of some of the clunky control of the first and really amping up the story, atmosphere and overall scares the second time around. I really liked Code Veronica, too, but after that the games just weren't the same.

32X demo of Sonic Tell me more. There's a very convoluted history with the development of the first 32-bit Sonic property. Long before even the demos with the Bug! engine there was "Sonic Mars", which was being designed for the Mars console before it became the 32X add-on. There were a fe...

The Saturn could do transparencies... it just didn't have built-in support for them. Oh, I know that, just a facetious dig at the common claim against the Saturn. Games like Sonic R and Panzer Dragoon Saga made it pretty clear that with the right programmers the flaws of the architecture could be t...

300 games just in SMS grolt?? HOLY CRAP!!!! Over my 15 systems (including handhelds) I only have about 230, 300 is an insane number for one system. Hope that you can finish off that collection and maybe post some pics??? I've devoted most of my time to the Master System as of late, but I've got a g...

I weighed in on Sonic X-treme on the other Sonic thread, but I just want to again throw my two cents in on the demos. The game was initially designed on the straight Bug! engine, but the initial problem was that they could not emphasize the speed that's part and parcel with Sonic. Bug! was a beautif...

SEGA messed up big with X-treme. The way it passed hands and engines like old clothing was embarrassing and totally symbolic of the dissarary SEGA was in while transitioning to 32-bit. They just had their hand in too many jars, supporting all these systems at once in 1995: Sega Genesis Sega CD Sega ...

Welcome to the forums, man. Awhile ago I did a free ISP tutorial for the NetLink: http://saturnleague.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=262 It should still work. I've only used it a couple times because like the others have said, once you try it out once there's really no other incentive since most sites ca...

Either way, I don't feel that I play video games as often anymore. I still play them a lot, but the time I spend is more... fragmented, now, and less in-depth. I'm in the same boat, which is why I often prefer playing 8-bit titles since the simplicity and brevity of most games allows me to play thr...

Not a single comment on the Master System? For shame! That system rocks the casbah! It's a great system to collect for, since there are only 114 US games, and the packaging looks uniform and really great on the shelf. It's almost all first-party SEGA games, which means the quality is really good thr...

I've got all my first-party accessories boxed already, but I might pick up another flight stick so I can try that Panzer Dragoon Zwei thing where you hook up the two joysticks at once. Thanks for the link.

Glad it arrived safe and sound. Have fun with it, it's got a detailed story, but at the same time is simple and loose enough to just pick up and immerse yourself in whenever without worrying about missing out on the story. I spent a lot of time just running around the various cities or flying around...

Grolt im not an RPG guy. Only played a couple. But I love the Panzer Dragoon games and I think im just going to like the atmosphere and the ability to play a "not on rails" version of the PD series. So even if im not into RPGs Im still excited to play the 3rd Dragoon saturn game with free...

Congrats on PDS, there is much fun to be had there. It is put together so well, the graphics are flawless and as always the world is compelling in a narrative sense. My one major gripe with the game is that there just aren't enough enemies. In some of those labyrinths it almost becomes tedious becau...
