I'm sorry. I probably should have posted in a different thread. You're right.

I'm from the US, and even though I now have access to a land line, I still don't have a working Saturn game disc. Sorry. :(

I don't know if any official DC servers are still running (I think they're all down now), but I know that for a few games (e.g. Phantasy Star Online and Quake III), people have managed to set up private servers.

Awesome! Welcome to the site!

I hopefully will be able to get in on the Netlink action soon as well. :)

It will be read wherever you put it. Therefore the second is unnecessary. I'd help you test, but I'm currently unable to for two reasons: One, I'm currently at college, and I don't have a land line here. Two, the only Netlink-compatible game I have, my Saturn won't read. I still haven't been able to...

The difference between surfing the internet on a dial-up internet and a Netlink game is that the Netlink games can't handle lag or interference, whereas an internet browser can. The Netlink expects a direct, clean connection between two Netlinks over the phone lines, with nothing in the middle inter...

I would never call the internet an 100% accurate source of data. Either one of us could be wrong. :) However, I don't think they'd allow for too many people to play on Netlink at once... for every player you've got playing, you up the bandwidth requirements... and 28.8kbps is already pretty slow as ...

Up to 10 people can challenge each other at home or up to two players can battle it out over the Sega Saturn NetLink.
Found that in under 30 seconds on a Google search.

Heh, I'm kind of in the opposite position. I own a Netlink, but no [working] Netlink games. My Saturn won't read the Sega Rally disc I bought. :( I still don't know if it's the system or the disc that's at fault. Unfortunately, I'm nowhere near you, so meeting up isn't really going to be feasible.

Welcome to the boards!

I'm a newcomer to the Saturn scene myself (my parents wouldn't get me a game console back then, so I've since had to buy just about everything myself). I hope you enjoy your time here though!

I would have bid, but I knew that I wouldn't have enough money to compete in this auction until Friday... so I didn't. :(

It definitely could be a problem with the disc. There are a few scratches on it... and the one that worries me most is a tiny scratch over one of the reflective rings on the disc... a thin reflective ring with a repeating pattern on it near the outside of the disc (not the one with the Sega copyrigh...

My Saturn...

Well, I've come to an unfortunate conclusion. Either my Saturn doesn't read game discs correctly (but regular music CD's just fine)... or the copy of Sega Rally I just got doesn't work properly. Unfortunately, the only Saturn discs I have are the web browser (which seems to work, although there's so...
