Re: Collection of Saturn game saves via NetLink
Hey bc, welcome to the forums. How are the files named? If you'd like, we can host a mirror here, but either way, that is an awesome find!

Re: Xband Test Results
This is interesting, and kinda uplifting after all the depressing reads of folks giving up. Honestly surprised that no one else has replied to this. Now I'm curious, does Krazystyle's XBand source code release serve any purpose for this discovery? Not sure if there's any code that can be salvaged t...
Re: Upgrades
I tried running a mirror on my own local server- it's definitely not the DB or phpBB. All of the delay is from my host, apparently.
Re: Upgrades
Oh, wow. It's crazy to see this place change after all this time. =P Good to see you still around here! You want to know something crazy? I've looked through the SQL database, and even though the board doesn't display them anymore, I've still got custom profile field data in there from 2006 when th...

Re: DC online
I came across this site recently: http://www.dcserv.org/. This group seems to be making legitimate progress towards creating servers for some of the games.

Re: Dialup on Saturn!
Xranger60, do you use a telsim to connect to your Raspi? What software/guides did you use to get everything running? I don't own a Raspberry Pi myself, yet, but I do run a Linux machine which I'd like to experiment on for the time being. I assume you're using more than just Postfix. I use a Teltone...

Re: Dialup on Saturn!
You can- but you'll need to roll your own SMTP server. The NetLink doesn't even appear to use authentication when it sends an email. Setup Postfix on Linux. If you're on Windows, use hMailServer, which is another free application. The best use for this is to backup your save games. I've recently pu...

Re: Hooking up the NetLink
I have a modem connected to a raspberrypi. The NetLink and Pi are connected to a Teltone TLS3 line simulator for ease. With a line simulator, the Pi can answer the call automatically.

Re: Dialup on Saturn!
It's really fun, isn't it? We've spent a lot of time browsing in the Saturn. The missing thing still today is the ability to send an email. We can receive, alright, but sending is hard due to new smtp servers only working with secure browsers today. I whish we could setup a smtp server that don't n...

Re: Happy 15th, Dreamcast!
Indeed, the specs on paper didn't match the PS2 hype machine. I think the anticipation of PS2 really killed it. Not even the reality. When SONY first released the PS2, the amount of aliasing going on hurt the eyes.

Re: Happy 15th, Dreamcast!
The Dreamcast felt and played so unique. I remember thinking "THIS is a next-gen system!" I could barely contain my excitement at the prospects for the built-in 56k modem.
