Im wonderinf if it also was released in europe, but im guessing it is not?
i got a genesis withthe mod switch on, so i could just get a american xband, i have a pal snes, but none of the supported games.
was there a eupean xband modem?
Re: was there a eupean xband modem?
I vaguely remember hearing that there were small tests performed in Europe, although at this point I can't remember if it was for the XBAND or the NetLink, or if maybe my memory is playing tricks on me.
Either way, unless you're a collector or hopeful developer, there's no point in owning an XBAND - it required a subscription to a centralized service that has been discontinued for almost two decades. Without that service, it's not possible to use the XBAND for multiplayer gaming on the SNES or the Genesis/Mega Drive.
The Sega Saturn's NetLink, on the other hand, does not rely on a subscription, but does require analog phone service for both players - an increasing rarity in today's world.

I have my Saturns, I have some of my games, I have a RasPi. Gotta put all this stuff together!
