The Sega Saturn NetLink League

hey everyone,

Does anyone have any tricks they do to get they're netlink to work? Mine hasnt been working out lately so I thought maybe playing around with the cartridge placement may help it recieve a solid connection with the saturn

Well, I don't know if you already did this.
But, disconnect the adsl modem like, "once", to try.
If you got a connection, then problem solved.
It will take less than ten seconds to synchronize the adsl signal again...

It turns out I wasn't the problem XD, it was my opponent. He has digital. I had to dial him but the connection didnt work out even after I took out the adsl. Our games said on the top of the screen "Games are out of sync. Restart." (we were playing duke nukem) so I turned off my system and told him that I dont think it was gonna workout.This only happens to people with digital, because SaturnVDP1 from here on the forums has digital and we got the same screen all well, I only dialed him three times (3$ a call, I dial 10-10-710 then his number and it runs our call through a service that charges 1 dollar for 110 minutes ) and we made it to stage 2, so I know my netlink is still running strong

You can see it in plenty of places on this site - digital phone lines RARELY work with the NetLink.

One simple thing that people shuld do is just try to connect to the ISP through the browser. If you open a page (or even fail to open and get a 404 page) then much likely you will be able to connect to someone else.

Simple like that... Yes, some people don't have the browser disc, but it's a really simple test before trying with someone.

Well now I'm really sad My netlink connects to my isp and works perfect but when I try to connect with a friend who I always used to play with it no longer works :'( We establish a connection and see our profiles and taunts, but once it tries to get into a game it never works We actually dont know whos doing what wrong because we Never ever abused our saturns or netlink :/

It must be the line, not the Saturn or the Net Link.
Maybe the other party is trying with a adsl modem too?

How far is the other player from you?

i'm in gatineau, quebec, canada and he is in kentucky, usa, so about 1,400 kilometres away.

Well, you can try with other player to verify the working condition of the NetLink.

* It's cool to see other metric system user around. I've never tought about the system used in Canada. (=
