DC Phantasy Star online - Official Shut down 31/03/07
Hi all,
As many of you probably know, the offical Dreamcast Phantasy star online servers (and Gamecube servers) are set to go offline this coming weekend. Its not totally certain what time this will be but it is expected to happen at midnight (Japanese time) so thats GMT+9
If anybody still has access to the servers with their DC I encourage you to come online for one last time to...player numbers are already increasing and it would just be nice to have a good turnout for the closure.
So if you can and you feel like it, feel free to hop on
Cheers, Craig
PS: This post references the PAL EU and Japanese versions of the game only, the US NTSC version officialy went offline in 2003

That's pretty sad. My roommate used to play it quite often, and while I never really invested time in it, I was nevertheless amazed by the world it was able to create. Sad that it is officially "dead", even if it will live anew in user servers. It would have been nice to keep one server online until basically all interest was lost, but kudos to Sega for keeping it up as long as they did.
That's fly.

Might be a few I guess, but I expect most will keep them, after all most owners now are enthusiasts, so there may be a small number of extras for sale, but don't count on it...after all the private servers are still available for those with the right versionsNightmare a la DC wrote:Wow, this is gonna leave a mighty big hole in the DC online community. On the plus side this may lead to some more BBA's being available on the net (seeing how most owners only used them for PSO), so all you Quake players keep a look out.

Yeah, today the Japanese servers went offline one by one
A grand total of about 600 players were online for the event and two japanese servers were completely full
The EU servers are still up at present but are expected to go offline in a little over 12 hours time so really is last chance now all

One could only hope...

Its Spanish for "why!!!" Will we at Saturn League be supporting a server for PSO? Perhaps a private server for members here only?grolt wrote:See I thought you just needed to know French to be able to say that...here I've been asking why all along, never having played the game.Overwatch wrote:I've never played PSO, but I can still go "POR QUE!!!!!!!!"
