Interesting problem with unofficial joystick

Hey!
I don't have many Saturn joysticks, so I bought an unofficial (here we call it "pirata", pirate in english).
The chinese (XD) joystick has a problem: The directional can be pressed in the middle (the 4 buttons at the same time). When this happens, the Saturn "think" the joystick was taken out, and pauses the game... I don't need to say that's an unplayable situation. But that's an unplayable situation! ^^'
In the original joystick (and 3D joystick), I've noticed that the directional can't be pressed in the middle...
Anyone had this problem?
* I had some ideas... If I open the original joystick and press the four direction buttons at the same time the Saturn will do the same? Could it be a hardware problem and SEGA solved the problem constructing the joystick in a way that the 4 buttons can't be pressed togheter?
I don't remember now, but I think that in other joysticks the directions can be pressed togheter...or no?
I don't open it yet...I don't have time.. =)
Maybe later...
So...sorry about the english and tell me your thoughts about this!
