I'm probably missing something here. Do the resulting files on the burned CD need to be .iso or .bin files? As downloaded, the file is a .rar file. When I burned it to a CD it remained a .rar file. I tried to use the "burn an image" utility in my burn software but it requires me to have an .iso file to start with to do that.

Do I need to convert the downloaded file to an .iso file? If so, how do I do that?

TIA

What program are you using to try to burn the file?

I suggest (assuming you arent using it already) that you download the trial of alcohol 120% that should burn it for you no problem, take a look here to download the trial

I'm using Burn & Go.

Does Alcohol convert the file to .iso in the burn process, is that the feature that's needed?

I know there are ways to conver one image type to another but that isnt what alcohol does, it simply support various types of image file, so will burn it without the need to convert

Scooter, you need to unpack the rar file. Download winRar to do this. The ISO should be in there and ready to burn after you unpack it.

hehe... remember to burn in 1x, 2x or 4x...

the Alcohol will let you do that.

I think there's an option like "burn Playstation CD", or something... use that.

Okay, one more stupid question. I ran the Return Fire downloaded .rar file through WinRar and got the following files:

RFIRE.BIN
and
RFIRE.CUE

Do I burn both of them to a CD or just the RFIRE.BIN file?

TIA

You don't actually burn those files directly beause otherwise you would just have a useless data disc, what you need to do is open up the CUE file (image file) using your cd writing software, such as nero or alcohol 120% and burn it as an image, there is a good chance that if you double click on the CUE file the appropriate program will load if you have one, if not download the trial for alcohol 120% thats my suggestion..heres a link to download the alcohol 120% trial:
