I'm not sure but I think I might have seen a copy of Duke Nukem in real life in one of the used game shops around here. That's why I want to check those places out first. Also I like supporting the community and local run Mom N Pop shops as much as I can. :D

The small shops can be nice... I've seen some that provide places for people to sit and play games with each other, that are well-lit, somewhat spacious, and have a generally friendly and helpful staff. However, some of the ones I've been in have been hole-in-the-wall-type places that cram you and as much merchandise as possible into the smallest, darkest corners of anyplace that they can find. I can think of two such small game stores where I've felt somewhat nervous for my safety... creepy sales associates... *shudder* (I bought my first Saturn in such a place, which didn't even fully work until I repaired it... and the warranty was nearly nonexistant.)

Well, some are good. Some are just scary/sketchy to no end.
I have my Saturns, I have some of my games, I have a RasPi. Gotta put all this stuff together!

Ive never been in one that gives off a scary creepy vibe. Like I know the feeling from going to a porn shop downtown with my girlfriend, now the guy in there was creepy! Not even any of the pawn shops I've been in have given off the scary Pulp Fiction vibe....

I'm going to make some youtube videos about buying used games and such. As I've never seen any vids like that before showing all the places to look. The place near me used to be awesome almost ten years ago when all NES games were $3 and all SNES games were $5 no matter how rare it was. That's where I picked up Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for SNES for $5!

Then the guy got hip and started using the internet as a price guide and turned it from a consignment shop full of every kind of junk into a dedicated Used Video/game/VACUUM store. So the janitor service and vacuum repair must bring in just as much money as DVDs and used games. It's the first place I ever saw multiple virtual boys and colecovisions under one roof. You can still find some decent deals in there from time to time. I'm just pissed it's not flat rates and they have the gull to charge sales tax and have a membership thing for $5 that saves you a few cents per game.

But there's a few other used game stores around here that aren't as bad but don't have as many games. There's a new used video/game store I saw on my way home from work a few months ago that I might actually stop in one day. I would have months ago but it's going to be a specific trip to head up that way cause I work third shift and usually only pass it at like 11 pm or 5 am when it's closed.

^ Now that's a post!
