I dont mind doing it with the cart. Once I got my cart in I had no problem playing a couple Jap games. I dont feel like opening it up and doing a switch (not to mention Im not good at sodering)

A modswitch is great for those that can pull it off! I have a notoriously unsteady hand, and my first and only try left me with a worthless Saturn. Best leave it to the professionals, I suppose!

I've been working on a switchless mod for a while. I haven't been moving very quickly on it, though.
I have my Saturns, I have some of my games, I have a RasPi. Gotta put all this stuff together!

That sounds like all your projects warp! one at a time! Though a switchless would be interesting.

Basically, I found a guide on how to build my own switchless mod and bought all the parts... but I decided to change it a little bit, which means writing my own program and everything. And I'm making it harder by not using C, and instead programming only in assembly. =P

Technically speaking, a switchless mod is impossible - there's something that switches it, even if it is a PIC or even software!

Do you mean like Lawrence's switchless mod?

It actually IS "switchless", as there is no physical "switch", at least like you'd expect to see. =P And you're not actually *adding* a physical switch to the system; you're just re-purposing an existing one. But I know what you're getting at. I've thought of debating that point before, but decided it wasn't a debate worth having.

Yes, my mod is one of the PIC microcontroller ones. The difference is that most of those use a 2-color LED that will also produce a third color if both are turned on at the same time. Mine uses an actual RGB LED, so I can't use the existing programs. Also, I'm writing the code in PIC assembly instead of C, making it... quite complex.

I purchased Virtua Cop 2, NiGHTS, and Sonic R. I *almost* decided to bid on Magic Knight Rayearth and Panzer Dragoon Saga... but even though I could afford them, I decided against spending that much money right now. Besides, I should just be happy with my Japanese versions.
