WORMS

I understand the Saturn game WORMS is good and addictive, but does that only apply to multi-player, like playing with a friend or budds ?
IS the SINGLE player game excellent ? Fun? Does it have good AI the makes the SINGLE player game just as addictive and fun as say the MULTI-player game ?
For Example I have found MOST Bomberman games give a good SINGLE player romp.
