Maybe. Since my brother has a VOIP line, and I have a normal phone line, maybe it causes heavy lag, and the game, to keep up sync, just slows down the whole game. Well, that's the only explanation I can think of. On a side note, I didn't see many people writing about their actual game experience wit...

I confirm that the swap trick works without problems. not only that, but you don't need to do it twice (the reset only occurs if you lose connection with the other player) So in other words, just start the game with the swap trick like you would with any other games, connect with the other player an...

I just played my first Netlink game yesterday. I use a conventionnal phone line now, while my brother uses voip phone. It lagged if he dialed me (so he was the host) but when I dialed him it worked flawlessly Duke Nukem was quite fun, except that you cannot chat ingame, which is weird in a coop game...

Awesome news! Good job! This summer, I worked on the program for like on week. I didn't have much free time since then, so I've put it on hold waiting for you to complete your simulator. I came to the conclusion that it's unlikely we could make a program to allow people to play online unless they ha...

It should work, it works exactly the same as after you reboot your console with the swap trick you use. I have a model 1 Saturn, so it's much easier to do the swap trick (thanks to the LED). Don't worry about it, it will work just fine, the only problem is that if you miss the swap, you will have to...

Generating the dial tone shouldn't be too hard. I'll do that in about 3 weeks once I get back home (august 16th). I almost bought a line simulator (TELTONE one, seems really good) for 70$ on eBay, but then I convinced myself not to waste my money, that you will be able to build a cheap device, lol! ...

Lol, we finally understood each others it seems. I guess maybe my english isn't good enough so I don't express myself well-enough. Yes, I need your circuit (or a similar device), and a voice-compatible modem will be needed. As for compression, it might be a bit too complex for me right now plus if I...

Just to clear up something : Voice-compatible modem doesn't mean it talks or something, it just means it can pick up calls from a fax or another modem. Your modem has to be able to listen to the line until it detects a call and then answer it, which is what a voice-compatible modem does. My techniqu...

Modems can dial, so using your device would work. I would just generate a call with the modem so that the Saturn picks up the line. As for the calling Saturn, your dialtone would trick the Saturn and make it dial, so then I would tunnel the data online right away (using a technique similar to answer...

Good news! Starting august 16th I'll have some free time, I will redownload Visual Studio .NET and I could start coding the program to tunnel the data on internet. But Netlink users won't have choice : they will need to voice compatible modem. We will have to discuss about how it will work out, like...

This theory sounds good. I'll come back home around august 10th only, so until then I can't try it, but when I'll go back home, I'll ask for my brother's netlink which was probably produced later than mine and try it out. If it also doesn't work, I'll try to see if I can build a line voltage inducer...

I looked online for line simulators, but they are quite expensive, and I'm not sure if we could use it to make the Saturn go online, but with those I'm almost 100% lan-like play would be possible. Here is one example of a not too expensive one, but I'm not sure if this one can produce a ringtone : h...
