That's cool you have the case for Virtua Fighter 2. I've only ever seen it in the cardboard slip case.

Are you thinking of VF Remix? I have only seen that in the slipcase, but VF2 in a long box seems pretty common, at least around here.

Mmmm maybe but I've never seen the long box for Virtua Fighter 2. Maybe the cardboard slip cases were for VF Remix or something.

Today I got a Model 1 Sega Genesis, model 1 Sega CD, and a 32X. With all the AC Adapters, all the needed cables even the 32x to Model 1 Genesis cable.

The Genesis and SCD work great and I got a bonus copy of Sol Feace!

I paid $20 for it all! Freakin sweet deal!

Now the only Sega Hardware I'm missing is the model 2 Master System, Model 3 Genesis, Nomad. I don't know if I should include the X'Eye as its made by JVC.

How'd you get all of that for so cheap?!

I much prefer the Model 1 Sega CD BIOS attract mode to the Model 2. My first experience ever with the Sega CD was an emulator running on the Model 1 BIOS. It was pretty cool watching the loading light blink while I played Popful Mail. :D

I got Okami and Phantom Brave for the Wii from friends. I've also bought a variety of other Wii games recently.
I have my Saturns, I have some of my games, I have a RasPi. Gotta put all this stuff together!

My birthday is coming up next week so I bought myself some Wii games today. I got De Blob (obscure game but got good reviews) and Resident Evil 4. I also got a gun/holder for the Wii remote so I can play RE4 the right way, with a gun in my hand!

I have a gift card coming for Amazon, I'll probably get Silent Hill Shattered Memories for my PS2. Been having a lot of fun with the GameCube version of Dragon's Lair 3D on my Wii.

It was a sweet craigslist deal. Ive dealt with that guy before and always gotten pretty sweet deals but this one was a great deal. He hasn't been able to move the sega stuff I guess.

The sega cd is making grinding noises when it firsy loads the cd. I'll make a video or something showing what its doing.

Man, I'd love the chance to open one up someday... I rather enjoyed fixing my Sega CD model 2 and my Saturn model 1.

Ok so I lug out the box fulla Sega junk I got to the living room to set it up again and make a video of the grinding noise I was talking about. I set it all up and discover that the video cable for the Genesis one doesn't work, sound but no video. It also looks like it went to a commodore 64 as the wires are black and white instead of yellow and white...so I hook up the 32X and go get the AV out cable for the 32X. Everythings set up correctly now. I hit Reset to eject the disc tray, plop down a game and hit start to close the tray....doesn't make the sound.

So I start up some Sol Feace, which turns out to be a pretty sweet game, and am waiting for the grinding sound I got yesterday. Nothing. Works perfect! Now I eject the disc and put in Snatcher and it loads up fine, watch some of the cutscene and still no grinding noise. Now I eject it and I get for like a half a second a little bit of the grinding noise. At that point I wasn't recording. So for the most part it seems to be working pretty damn good now.

The only thing I did different today was used the 32X for it's video out since the Genesis video cable was dead. Also the power supply for the Genesis 1 was different today as well. Yesterday I used the supplied off brand power adapter which didn't match the specs exactly. So I used a Sega brand power supply I had to dig around for.

So I guess it works pretty damn good after all. I tested out the 32X too and it plays games just fine. I think I'm going to battle my wire hell mess and use my Model 1 Genesis/SCD/32X instead of the model 2 combo. It's a little less wide so it'll clear up some space and I happen to think the model one Genesis/SCD unit looks pretty good. Swapping out the AC adapters and going through all the wires is going to be a real pain in the dick though. I've got such an epic mess.

I do have to disagree with you Warp, about the Bios, I love love love the song that plays on the model 2 SCD. It's catchy as hell!

I actually asked for DragonFroce Saturn for Xmas. Anyone ask for a used, out of print, expensive rare game for XMAS before? I figured "santa" was resourceful enough :)

Didnt get it of course.

man i wish i had a Sega cd. i have a back-up ram cartridge, some controllers and a game, but no cd system yet. i shouldn't even be buying any game stuff to be honest but it's a hobby and habit i've yet to find a cure for. $20 for all the stuff jerry found would have made my day.

Dragon Force is one i'd like to pick up as well. in fact i've never enjoyed collecting games as much as i have with the Sega Saturn library. definitely the best system i never had the chance to own when it was released but even back then i knew it was a special one.

i did purchase Popful Mail for the Sega cd recently even though i dont have a cd system. i played it on the Gens emulator a long time ago and i really really liked the game. its difficult but not impossible, the graphics are great, voicework is entertaining, controls are smooth and it's just one of those games with a light-hearted tone that doesn't take itself too seriously.

maybe when i come back from my vacation i can pick up a Sega cd system. or i remember seeing some at this local flea market and i may pay them a visit!

I don't think there's a cure for the game buying/collecting bug. :D

You definitely should get a Sega CD! It has a ton of amazing games.

I really enjoyed Popful Mail as well, although I'm pretty bad at platformers. I ended up buying the Japanese release, just to save some cash.

Yeah game collecting never goes away. I tried and thought I grew out of it, but it backfired.

In 2006 I sold alot of my Saturn collection thinking I was not into it anymore. Im more mature I thought or something. I had alot of the harder to find ones like House of the Dead, Bomber etc , sold like 50 of them to some guy. 2 years later I rebought just about every single one. So even if you quit it will find you :) .

But I agree Manji, Saturn just has something about it thats so appealing to collect. Maybe its the book like cases, the scarcity, the intriguing titles. All of the above for me but with a bit of nostalgia mixed in. The fun is there are still 5-6 games, after 12 years of Saturn admiration I still havent played so its still fun. Id say I like to buy one every few months to draw out the process.

As for a Sega CD those arent expensive. You find them locally without much problem Id assume. I got mine from a friend who was throwing them out. Yes THROWING them out. He owned a game store. Had like 10-15 sega cds but no cords. I took a few a couple years back.

MANJI I think we also need to hookup for some netlink, we used to go a month between matches now its been a few months :) Ill have to see if my land line still exists ha.
